How ReadingSpace works
ReadingSpace helps children build a reading habit using the books they already have.
Children read real books, complete short sessions, earn rewards and build their own ReadingSpace universe as they go.
Simple for families. Motivating for children.
ReadingSpace is designed to fit around real family life.
Your child does not read books on the app. They read physical books at home, from school or from the library. ReadingSpace simply helps them stay motivated, track their progress and feel proud of coming back to their book.
1. Create your family account
A parent creates the account and sets up their child’s profile.
You stay in control of the account, the reading sessions and the rewards.
2. Add a real book
Your child adds the book they are currently reading.
This could be a book from home, school, the library or anywhere else.
3. Start a reading session
Your child taps to start a reading session, then reads their real book away from the screen.
Read for ten minutes or keep going for longer.
4. Confirm the session
At the end of a session, a parent PIN helps confirm the reading.
This keeps rewards fair and helps make sure ReadingSpace supports real reading, not just screen time.
5. Earn rewards
After reading, children earn Stars and Imagination Energy.
They can use these to collect cards, build streaks and bring their ReadingSpace universe back to life.
6. Come back tomorrow
ReadingSpace gives children a reason to return to their book.
Small reading sessions add up, and children can see their habit growing over time.
Reading without extra screen time
ReadingSpace is not designed to replace books.
Your child does not read books on the app. They read physical books at home, from school or from the library.
ReadingSpace simply helps them stay motivated, track their progress and feel proud of coming back to their book.
Prefer device-free reading time?
Parents can manually add a reading session from their account.
This means your child can still be rewarded for reading, even if you prefer them not to use a device during reading time.
Just choose the book, add the minutes read and confirm the session.
What children can earn
ReadingSpace rewards consistency, not test scores.
Children can earn:
Stars
Stars help children unlock card packs and collect rewards.
Imagination Energy
Imagination Energy helps children bring planets back to life.
Streaks
Streaks help children see the habit they are building.
Cards
Cards give children something fun to collect as they continue reading.
Planet progress
Every session helps their ReadingSpace universe grow.
Built to make reading feel positive
ReadingSpace is not a test, a school tracker or a comprehension programme.
It is designed to help children feel proud of reading regularly.
The goal is simple: make reading feel more rewarding, more consistent and easier to come back to, while giving parents a clearer picture of the habit their child is building.
